WMBA Announces 2022 Officers, Committee Chairs, Class Of 2022

The Women’s Music Business Association (WMBA) has announced the members of its Class of 2022.
The organization also recently elected new officers Melissa Flaxman (President), Virginia Brick (Vice President), Dixie Hydrick (Secretary), and Lizzy Stone (Treasurer).
Committee Chairwomen for 2022 include Aura Guadagno and Aimee Graham (Events & Education Co-Chairs), and Erin Fligel, and Amy Gellick (Marketing & Membership Co-Chairs).
WMBA Class of 2022 Applications Now OPEN
Applications for The 2022 Women’s Music Business Association (WMBA) Class are now OPEN! Applicants can apply through November 19, 2021, at 11:59 pm CST.

Applicants must have a full year of working experience in the music industry along with two recommendation letters. For more information on applicant qualifications and to apply, please click on the MEMBERSHIP tab.

The Women’s Music Business Association (WMBA) is hosting its first annual WMBA Fun Day at Edwin Warner Park in Nashville to kick off its recruitment season. The event will be held on Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. CT in Pavilion 9.

The afternoon will be filled with food, games, and prizes from stores and artists in Music City. The event is open to all members, alumni, and women in the music industry who are interested in joining or learning more about the organization.

MusiCares Announces Programming for Mental Health Awarness Month
May is Mental Health Awareness Month! MusiCares has launched a series of events this month to celebrate.
MusiCares in partnership with MTV Entertainment Group and 192 other leading brands, nonprofits, and cultural leaders will participate in the first-ever Mental Health Action Day, to be held on Thursday, May 20 it recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month. “Mental Health Action Day is an open-source movement of brands, organizations, and cultural leaders to drive culture from mental health awareness to mental health action.”

GRAMMY U & MusiCares Present: Mental Health & Music with Phoebe Bridgers
On May 27th, join GRAMMY U and MusiCares for an intimate conversation with artist and songwriter, Phoebe Bridgers, about the importance of speaking out on mental health issues and her own experience using music as a tool for expression.
Year-round, the MusiCares Mental Health & Addiction Recovery Services Team provides support, referrals, and emergency financial assistance for counseling, psychiatric care, inpatient treatment, coaching, intensive outpatient care, sober living, and more.
