What is the WMBA?
WMBA, the Women's Music Business Association, is dedicated to fostering opportunities within the music industry through education, networking, industry involvement, community service and organizational fellowship.

How and when did the WMBA get started?
The concept for WMBA was born in the spring of 2001. The initial meetings were just a few friends from different areas of the music industry getting together, talking about their jobs and their personal goals in the business. Each month more and more women began to attend, until it evolved into what is now the Women's Music Business Association.

What can I expect at a WMBA meeting?
Meetings range from seminars and speakers to discussions on the music industry. Speakers have included:

When and where does WBMA hold meetings?
Meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of every month at NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association) 1710 Roy Acuff Place, Nashville, TN 37203 at 6:30 PM.

How are officers selected?
Once a year in July, WMBA members vote for a President, Vice President, Social Chair, Membership Chair, Community Service Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. Each nominee has a chance to voice her agenda before the vote occurs.

How much are dues and where is my money going ?
Dues are $40, and are paid annually in February. The money goes toward WMBA expenses such as event supplies, and is used at the discretion of the committee.

What are some of your Social Activities?
During each month, we have at least one WMBA social event. These have included:
Ice Skating Hibachi Grill
Bowling Game Night
Happy Hours Frist Center
Nashville Sounds Games Holiday Parties
Wine Tasting Sushi Night

In addition, WMBA also organizes groups for concerts, festivals, movies, and other events around Nashville and Middle Tennessee.


What have been some of your Community Service events?
WMBA members have been involved in several charity organizations including:
